Iain Glen Joins Tamsin Greig in London Run of William Boyd's Longing

Iain Glen will star in a new London production of William Boyd’s Longing. Glen joins previously announced stars Tamsin Greig and John Sessions in the play, which will run at the Hampstead Theatre beginning February 28. Opening night is set for March 7. The limited engagement will run through April 13. 

Longing is adapted from two Anton Chekhov stories, A Visit to Friends and My Life (The Story of a Provincial). In the first, a Russian lawyer is pressed for financial aid from an old friend whose family is facing home bankruptcy. In the second, a man renounces high society in order to work among the lower class and earn a living through hard labor.

Nina Raine will direct the production, which also features Alan Cox, Tom Georgeson, Mary Roscoe, William Postlethwaite, Jonathan Bailey, Natasha Little, Eve Ponsonby and Catrin Stewart.

Glen's recent theatre credits includes Uncle Vanya, Ghosts, WallensteinSeparate Tables and The Crucible. He appeared on Broadway opposite Nicole Kidman in The Blue Room in 1998. His TV and film credits includes The Iron Lady, Pope Joan, Harry Brown, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, The Magdalen Martyrs, Spooks and Into The Storm.
