Patrick Stewart, Julie Walters & More to Toast 60th Anniversary of West End Thriller The Mousetrap

A slew of stage stars are lining up to celebrate 60 years of murderous fun on the West End! Patrick Stewart will join Harry Potter’s Julie Walters, Downton Abbey stars Iain Glen and Hugh Bonneville and more in a gala performance of The Mousetrap on November 18 at London's St. Martin’s Theatre. The staged reading, in honor of the 60th anniversary of Agatha Christie’s classic play, will be directed by Phyllida Lloyd. All proceeds from the gala will be donated to Mousetrap Theatre Projects, a theater education organization.

In addition to Stewart as Mr. Paravicini, Walters as Mrs. Boyle, Glen as Sargent Trotter and Bonneville as Giles Ralston, The Mousetrap will star Nicholas Farrell (Chariots of Fire) as Major Metcalf, Tamsin Greig (God of Carnage) as Mollie Ralston, Miranda Hart (Miranda) as Miss Casewell and Harry Lloyd (The Iron Lady) as Christopher Wren.

Set in 1952, The Mousetrap is a murder mystery with a surprise twist ending based on Christie’s short story of the same name. The Mousetrap opened in London’s West End in 1952, and holds the record for the longest initial run of any play in history. The show continues to run at the St. Martin's Theatre.
