Wicked Confirms New Supporting Players

Get ready for big cast changes at Wicked. Caroline Keiff will play Nessarose and Jeremy Legat takes on the role of Boq starting June 9 at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, when Wicked gets plenty of new faces. The same day marks the first performance from previously announced Desmond Barrit, replacing Nigel Planer as the Wizard, and Alexia Khadime, who follows on as Elphaba from Kerry Ellis.

Ellis is leaving to appear in the Broadway production of the musical smash but will return to the London staging on December 1. Dianne Pilkington and Oliver Tompsett continue as Glinda and Fiyero, respectively, while Harriet Thorpe takes over as Madame Morrible from April 14.

The U.K. premiere of the show is set to celebrate its 650th performance and has been seen to date by more than 1.2 million people since its September 2006 opening. Its London gross so far stands in excess of £45 million(about $90 million).
