Youngest Actor to Play Title Role in Phantom Begins 10 September


Ramin Karimloo
At the age of 28, Ramin Karimloo will become the youngest ever actor to play the title role in The Phantom of the Opera, when he takes over the role on 10 September. On the same date, Alex Rathgeber will make his West End debut in the part as Raoul.

Karimloo has previously appeared as Enjolras in Les Miserables at the Queen’s Theatre and as Chris in a tour of Miss Saigon. he is currently the standby for the role of the Phantom. Rathgeber is a graduate of Perth’s West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He has starred in his native country in Kiss Me, Kate and Fiddler on the Roof and toured Asia with Disney stage shows. Also joining the company on 10 September is Benjamin Lake as Piangi.

The Phantom company at Her Majesty’s Theatre continues to include Robyn North and Leila Benn Harris, who share the role of Christine, Wendy Ferguson as Carlotta, James Barron as Monsieur Firman, Sam Hiller as Monsieur Andre, Heather Jackson as Madame Giry and Lyndsey Wise as Meg Giry.
