The press got a bushel of stardom and a peck of nostalgia when they met the new stars of Guys and Dolls at Century on 5 June. Film hunk and longtime dancer Patrick Swayze (the heartthrob of Dirty Dancing and Ghost fame) will be joining the musical as Nathan Detroit, and soap star and singer Claire Sweeney will be developing an adorable cold as Miss Adelaide. The pair of triple threats, who will both begin performances in the musical on 10 July for an eight-week run, will be joining current cast members Adam Cooper (Sky Masterson) and Kelly Price (Sarah Brown). Oh, and just in case you weren’t pining for the '80s enough, the stage version of Dirty Dancing, by coincidence, will begin at the Aldwych a mere week after Swayze steps out of his dancing shoes at the Piccadilly.
